Container Lift Operator (Temp-to-Hire)

Location: North Charleston, SC
Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Type: Temporary-to-Permanent

Job Summary

A growing transportation and logistics operation in North Charleston is seeking a Container Lift Operator to safely move, load, unload, and stack ISO containers within the terminal yard. This position requires experience operating heavy equipment and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for a dependable individual looking to build a long-term career in the transportation and logistics industry.

Responsibilities

• Operate container-handling equipment to lift, move, and position ISO containers.
• Load and unload containers from trucks and chassis.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain an organized and safe yard environment.
• Assist with container inventory and yard organization.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, drivers, and terminal personnel.
• Complete operational documentation as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment, large forklifts, reach stackers, top loaders, or container handlers preferred.
• Experience working in a transportation, logistics, warehouse, port, or terminal environment is a plus.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
