Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to landscaping, Inventory, loading and unloading shipping, and receiving within our yard environment. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate various equipment safely and efficiently. The Yard Worker will play a crucial role in ensuring that operations run smoothly and that materials are organized and accessible.
Responsibilities
- Perform heavy lifting and moving of materials as required throughout the yard.
- Operate equipment such as tractors and forklifts o facilitate loading and unloading of goods.
- Assist in order picking processes to ensure accurate fulfillment of shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by preparing materials for transport and verifying incoming shipments.
- Collaborate with team members to build structures or setups as needed for operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues.
Skills
- Proficient in heavy lifting techniques with a focus on safety.
- Experience operating cranes, cherry pickers, order pickers, and clamp trucks is preferred.
- Strong skills in materials handling, including loading and unloading processes.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking tasks.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively.
