Express is now hiring: Entry-Level Assistant Project Manager
Location: Based in Lexington, SC | Pay: Based on Experience | Schedule: Full-Time | Local Travel (within 1 hour)
Express is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support a growing Project Management team in the commercial construction industry. This is an entry-level role ideal for recent graduates in business or a related fieldor those with hands-on construction or electrical experience.
Position Overview:
This role includes approximately 30% in-office work and 70% field work. Youll travel to commercial building sites (within an hour of the office) and work under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager. Responsibilities include paperwork, oversight of foremen, and helping to manage project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordination of commercial construction projects
Support communication between field crews, customers, and internal teams
Oversee job site activities and ensure progress aligns with project goals
Help track costs, budgets, change orders, and submittals
Ensure compliance with company, safety, and quality standards
Maintain project documentation and prepare reports
Support scope changes, scheduling, and quality control alongside the Lead Project Manager
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelors degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred)
Or equivalent hands-on experience in construction or electrical work
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Procore or PlanGrid experience is a plus)
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Willingness to learn and take direction while growing into the role
