Position: HR Assistant

Location: Newberry, SC 29108
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Manager / HR Supervisor
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. (may adjust to 6:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. or 5:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. depending on operational needs) $18-$22

Position Summary
- The HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department. This role serves as the first point of contact for employees and visitors, handles incoming calls, assists with general HR inquiries, and performs routine data entry and filing tasks. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, personable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist employees, applicants, and visitors entering the HR office or facility.
- Answer and route incoming calls; respond to routine employee questions and direct complex inquiries to the appropriate HR staff member.
- Perform data entry in HR systems, including maintaining employee records and updating personnel files.
- Manage HR filing systems (both electronic and paper) to ensure records are current, organized, and compliant with company policy.
- Support onboarding processes by preparing employee files, badges, and related materials.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times.
- Assist with timekeeping, attendance records, and basic reporting as directed.
- Help coordinate employee communications, notices, and general HR announcements.
- Monitor and manage entry door traffic to ensure only authorized personnel gain access.
- Provide general administrative support including document preparation, copying, scanning, and filing.
- Perform other HR or office duties as assigned to support department operations.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ year of administrative, office, or HR support experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry.
- Professional, courteous, and reliable demeanor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Bilingual

Preferred:
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Prior experience with HRIS or timekeeping systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Work Environment:
- Office-based role within a manufacturing facility.
- Frequent interaction with employees, managers, and visitors.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk periodically throughout the day.
- Work schedule may adjust based on production shifts or business needs.
- Strong Chemical smell of Fiberglass Solution. Must be willing to work in such conditions.
