Location: Newberry, SC
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Reports To: Department Supervisor / Production Lead
Hours: 2nd 3pm - 11pm $17.49

Express Employment are currently working with a Company that is a manufacturer of mission-critical components for the electric utility, telecommunications, and civil markets. The Newberry facility supports the production of fiberglass crossarms, insulators, and related utility hardware. The company emphasizes safety, quality, continuous improvement, and adherence to environmental and regulatory standards.

Job Summary
- Perform hands-on tasks in a manufacturing environment to support production flow, quality assurance, or material handling. This role requires attention to detail, safety compliance, teamwork, and ability to follow standard operating procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate machinery, tools, or equipment required for the role (e.g. molding, pultrusion, cutting, inspection)
- Inspect products or components for defects according to quality criteria
- Record inspection data or production metrics accurately
- Assist with material movement, staging, and inventory handling
- Follow 5S principles to maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
- Complete required documentation, logs, or work orders fully and accurately
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality procedures and policies
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (lean, Kaizen, waste reduction)
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Good vision and ability to detect visual defects
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, or checklists
- Strong attention to detail and consistency with repetitive tasks
- Willingness to adhere to safety rules and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work as part of a team and also independently when needed
- Basic computer skills (data entry, navigating digital systems)

Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience with inspections, measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Working knowledge of quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001)
- Forklift/industrial vehicle certification
- Experience in continuous improvement / lean manufacturing

Physical / Environmental Conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to ~ 50lbs)
- Work inside a manufacturing/production facility (noise, dust, heat, or humidity may vary)
- Use of gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and other PPE as required
- Rotating shifts or overtime may be required

- Flexible to adapt to schedule changes or production demands
