Job Title: Shop Technician
Pay Rate: $23 - $25hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Shop Technician to support valve repair and maintenance operations. This role is primarily shop-based (approximately 75%) with occasional field work (25%). Candidates will work alongside experienced technicians and as part of a team when in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disassemble and reassemble valve components using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment
- Inspect parts for wear, damage, and functionality
- Perform repairs and replace defective components as needed
- Sandblast parts to remove debris, rust, and buildup
- Paint components using air tools and hand tools
- Accurately document work orders, including photos and digital records
- Assist with removing valves in the field and transporting them back to the shop
- Perform rigging and bolting as required
Qualifications:
- Mechanical experience (assembly, repair, or troubleshooting) required
- Comfortable working in a shop environment
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no more than 6 points)
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Forklift experience (sit-down) is a plus
Preferred Backgrounds:
- Millwrights
- Military/Navy experience
- Mechanics
- Pipefitters
Work Environment & Requirements:
- Steel toe/safety toe boots required (PPE provided)
- Jeans and t-shirt required (no sweatpants or sleeveless shirts)
- Team-oriented environment with hands-on training
