Express Employment is now seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a commercial contracting company in the Lexington area. This position will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining trucks and heavy equipment, as well as performing preventative maintenance. Starting pay is $20-$30 hourly based on experience.
Schedule: MondayFriday 7:00 AM5:00 PM (Friday 7:30 AM4:30 PM); occasional Saturdays as needed
Duties include:
-Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment
-Work closely with the Lead Mechanic to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues
-Travel using a company truck to service equipment or vehicles when needed
-Remove and replace failed parts and components
-Follow instructions and complete assigned mechanical tasks efficiently
-Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
-Experience with small power tools and mechanical systems
-Knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines preferred
-Experience with truck service and yellow iron equipment is a plus
-Ability to take direction and work in a team environment
-Strong communication skills and professionalism
-Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and working in heat
-Must be trustworthy, dependable, and motivated
Work Environment:
-Hands-on, outdoor/industrial setting with exposure to dirt, heat, and machinery
Equipment:
-Company truck and gas card provided; basic tools required (tool assistance may be available)
PPE:
-Provided (glasses, hard hat, gloves, high-visibility vest); steel-toe boots required
