Express Employment Professionals – Alcoa, TN Full‑Time | 12‑Hour Rotational Shift | Heavy Industrial Facility
About the Opportunity
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Maintenance Crew Leader for a large, well‑established heavy industrial plant located just outside Knoxville, TN. This top employer is seeking an experienced maintenance professional with strong leadership abilities and hands‑on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
This position requires a motivated, self‑starting leader who can supervise craft employees, support technical troubleshooting, and help drive maintenance excellence across the facility.
Shift:
- 12‑hour shifts / 5PM – 5 AM
- Rotational schedule: 2 days on / 2 days off / 5 days on / 5 days off
- Training will occur on day shift
Responsibilities
- Supervise electrical craft, mechanical craft, and production employees.
- Serve as a technical resource for maintenance guidance across the department.
- Provide hands‑on technical maintenance support for assigned areas.
- Execute planned and unplanned maintenance work to meet department goals.
- Coordinate repairs with internal customers to minimize equipment downtime.
- Follow up on equipment issues and develop effective problem‑solving solutions.
- Provide on‑call support for critical maintenance situations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate closely with craft employees.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and continuous improvement policies.
- Lead small production teams when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Verifiable supervisory experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong maintenance background with 2+ years of hands‑on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in an industrial environment
- Ability to lead, train, and support craft employees
- Ability to work a 12‑hour rotational shift schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance leadership role
- 5+ years of heavy industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
- Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and hydraulic systems
- Supervisory experience in a union environment
- Experience supervising production employees
Union supervisory experience is required.
Pay
- $43–$47.50 per hour, depending on experience.
