Job Full Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing triage duties, managing patient referrals, and providing support to medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Triage:
- Conduct initial assessments of patients to determine the urgency of their medical needs.
- Collect and record vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
- Communicate effectively with patients to gather relevant information and provide instructions.

Referral Management:
- Coordinate and manage patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Ensure timely processing of referrals, including obtaining necessary authorizations and documentation.
- Maintain and update referral logs and patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Administrative Support:
- Assist with scheduling appointments and follow-up visits.
- Manage incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding referrals and triage processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to streamline patient care and enhance communication.

Patient Education:
- Provide patients with information regarding their conditions, referral processes, and follow-up care.
- Assist in preparing educational materials and resources for patients.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training sessions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting, particularly in triage and referral management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
