Job Description:
Express Employment Professionals of Clarksville is currently seeking reliable and efficient candidates for a Temp to Hire Furnace Utility Operator position with a Leading Metal Production Facility. This position will pay $21.00 per hour, and candidates must be able to work 3 days on 3 days off from 7:00 A.M.- 7:00 P.M. Candidates must have at least one year manufacturing and forklift experience to be considered. You must also be flexible on working both day and night shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Clean the furnace using different tools
- Drain, transfer, or remove molten metal from furnaces and place it into molds
- Collect samples to test metal for analysis
- Pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into molds that form to produce ingots
- Examine molds to ensure they are clean, smooth and properly coated
- Position equipment such as ladles and dross posts to perform drossing procedures
- Operate mobile equipment to include forklifts and sweepers
- Sweep and clean work areas
- Follow all safety policies and procedures required
- Good attitude, performance, and attendance is essential
Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Capable of maintaining and adhering to all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
- Must have one year of previous manufacturing and forklift experience
- Follows written and verbal communications and instructions.
- Able to manage and maintain operations of assigned furnace
- Able to lift a maximum weight of 50lbs frequently and up to 75lbs occasionally
- Must be able to carry a maximum weight of 50lbs occasionally
- Must be able to push a maximum force of 75lbs frequently and 150lbs occasionally
- Able to work in a hot and dusty environment
- Capable of regularly required physical demands to sit or stand, walk, bend and climb, reach and grasp.
- Capable of complying with all Safety requirements including the use of PPE: PPE includes but is not limited to Steeled toed shoes/boots, and Safety Eyewear
