Job Summary
The Powdercoat Technician is responsible for operating paint systems, monitoring quality, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating workflow to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Inspect finish quality for appearance and paint adhesion.

Maintain paint and supplies inventory, and keep accurate records.

Select and use proper hanging components to maximize efficiency.

Safely load/unload racks and conveyor parts.
-
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on spray booths, ovens, racks, and filtration systems.

Coordinate schedules for color changes, part identification, and efficient equipment use.

Maintain accurate documentation of orders, part numbers, and inventory transactions.

Operate material handling equipment such as jib hoists, forklifts, and pallet jacks.

Package and wrap finished products per customer specifications.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience with powder coating systems (automatic or manual).

Knowledge of surface preparation, powder specifications, and measuring instruments.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and shop orders.

Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience with overhead hoists, forklifts, or pallet jacks preferred.
Work Environment

Exposure to dirt, oil, grease, fumes, and airborne particles.
-
May require working in hot environments and around loud noise.

Safety equipment must be worn at all times.
