Job Title: Crown-Certified Forklift Battery Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Crown-Certified Forklift Battery Technician responsible for changing, inspecting, and maintaining batteries and charging systems for Crown sit-down forklifts. This is a physically active and safety-critical position focused on keeping all electric forklifts charged, rotated, and ready for operation. Crown certification is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely change and rotate forklift batteries using overhead hoists, pallet jacks, or battery handling equipment.
- Maintain proper battery watering schedules and check fluid levels.
- Perform routine cleaning of battery terminals and cables to prevent corrosion and maintain conductivity.
- Inspect batteries and chargers for wear, damage, or electrical issues.
- Use Crown diagnostic tools and follow OEM procedures to identify battery-related performance issues.
- Document battery changes, issues, and maintenance performed in tracking systems or logs.
- Ensure charging stations and battery areas are clean, safe, and in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Communicate with equipment techs and supervisors about battery performance and charging needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Crown Equipment Corporation certification (must be current and verifiable).
- Prior experience working with industrial forklift batteries and charging systems.
- Basic understanding of forklift battery safety, maintenance procedures, and electrical handling.
- Ability to use lifting equipment safely (overhead hoist, pallet jack, etc.).
- Reliable attendance for assigned shift.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a warehouse environment.
- Comfortable working around high-voltage equipment with proper PPE.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Crown battery systems and chargers used in electric sit-down forklifts.
- OSHA training or battery handling certifications (in addition to Crown certification).
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures without shortcuts.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
