Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee government infrastructure projects focused on bridge construction, concrete work, and related civil works. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction supervision and a proven track record in delivering complex projects safely, on time, and within budget.
This role combines technical expertise in heavy civil construction with leadership in field operations, crew management, and regulatory compliance — particularly with state and federal contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily field operations on bridge and concrete construction projects.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, DOT standards, and government contract requirements.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, equipment, and workforce efficiently.
- Oversee subcontractors and internal crews, maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safety, progress, and workmanship.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Utilize project management software (e.g., ProCore, Primavera P6) for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
- Lead toolbox talks and site safety meetings; enforce company and jobsite safety policies.
- Coordinate material deliveries, track usage, and manage inventory on-site.
- Oversee preparation of contracts and ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations.
- Act as the primary site liaison with project managers, engineers, and government inspectors.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to field personnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction, particularly bridgework and concrete infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of government/public sector construction contracts.
- Proficient in construction management software: ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and HeavyBid.
- Solid understanding of OSHA safety standards and risk mitigation practices.
- Exceptional skills in scheduling, budgeting, and construction estimating.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and plans accurately.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities; experience leading multi-disciplinary crews.
- Familiarity with pipeline construction and electrical testing (e.g., ohmmeters) is a plus.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- DOT or FHWA-related training
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Construction Supervisor License or Civil Tech Diploma
