Manufacturing Laborer – Steel Mill (1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Pay: $16.00/hour + $0.50/hour forklift differential (for certified operators – putaway only)
We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented candidates to join a steel manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on production role in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Candidates must be comfortable working around heavy materials and industrial equipment, and capable of taking precise measurements to ensure quality and consistency in production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day steel production and material handling
- Perform accurate measurements using tape measures, calipers, and other tools to ensure materials meet specifications
- Load and unload steel materials safely
- Operate equipment and assist machine operators as needed
- Utilize forklift for putaway tasks only (if certified)
- Follow all facility safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
- Perform quality checks and report any material defects or discrepancies
Pay & Schedule:
- Base Pay: $16.00 per hour
- Forklift Differential: Additional $0.50/hour for certified forklift drivers (putaway use only)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
Requirements:
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial settings preferred
- Ability to take precise and consistent measurements is a must
- Forklift certification preferred, but not required
- Must pass a 7-year background check
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to random testing during employment
- ZERO-tolerance drug policy – this is a drug-free facility
- Steel-toe boots required
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, and move materials for extended periods
Work Environment:
- Heavy manufacturing setting with exposure to steel, machinery, and loud noise
- Physically demanding and fast-paced
