Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant/CPA will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Recordkeeping: Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies; assist with audits and regulatory filings.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the development of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring variances and providing analysis.

  • Accounts Management: Process accounts payable and receivable, manage payroll, and ensure timely vendor payments.

  • Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns; stay updated on tax law changes.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to provide financial insights and support business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Certification: CPA designation preferred but not required; candidates pursuing CPA certification are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience: 1-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • High attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
