Job Full Description
The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport, stack, and organize heavy materials, such as metal, machinery, or large components, within our industrial facility. This role requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to thrive in a demanding environment while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Operate Forklifts: Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach trucks, or heavy-duty models) to move raw materials, finished products, and heavy components within the facility.

Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials, ensuring secure placement and proper weight distribution to prevent damage or accidents.

Inventory Management: Assist in organizing and staging materials in designated storage areas, maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring accessibility.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), performing pre-shift equipment inspections, and following lockout/tagout procedures.

Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance on forklifts, reporting any mechanical issues to supervisors promptly.

Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, warehouse staff, and supervisors to meet operational goals and maintain workflow efficiency.

Documentation: Record material movements, complete load manifests, and update logs or digital systems as required.
Qualifications

Experience: Experience in a heavy industrial environment (e.g., steel, manufacturing, or construction); experience with heavy or oversized loads preferred.

Skills:

Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment in confined or high-traffic areas.

Strong spatial awareness and ability to handle heavy loads safely.

Basic understanding of inventory management and material tracking systems.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.

Comfort working in a heavy industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in warehouse operations or logistics is a plus.

Other: Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.
