Job Full Description
We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Sand Blaster! In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing structural steel surfaces through abrasive blasting to meet coating and quality standards. This is hands-on work that plays a critical role in the durability, safety, and finish of our steel products.
Key Responsibilities

Perform abrasive blasting (sandblasting or similar media) on structural steel components

Prepare steel surfaces to required specifications (e.g., SSPC, NACE, or customer standards)

Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure proper cleanliness and profile
-
Operate and maintain blasting equipment, hoses, nozzles, and air compressors
-
Load, unload, and move steel materials using cranes, forklifts, or other equipment (as trained)

Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and containment systems

Maintain a clean and organized blasting area

Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems to supervisors

Work closely with painters, inspectors, and fabrication teams to meet production schedules
Qualifications

Previous experience in sandblasting or abrasive blasting (structural steel preferred)

Knowledge of surface preparation standards and blast profiles
-
Ability to read work orders and follow specifications

Comfortable working in industrial environments with noise, dust, and PPE requirements

Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Dependable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
Preferred Skills (Not Required)

Experience with steel fabrication or industrial painting

Forklift or overhead crane certification

Familiarity with SSPC/NACE standards
Work Environment

Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment
