Job Full Description
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the exterior appearance, safety, and cleanliness the grounds. This role ensures that all outdoor areas—including lawns, walkways, parking lots, and landscaping—are well-kept, hazard-free, and present a welcoming environment for residents and the staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, and flower beds through mowing, trimming, watering, and fertilizing
- Remove trash, debris, and hazardous materials from the property
- Keep sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas clean and safe, including snow/ice removal when applicable
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems
- Perform minor repairs on outdoor fixtures such as fences, benches, and signage
- Monitor grounds for safety hazards and report issues promptly
- Assist with seasonal landscaping projects and general upkeep
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Qualifications:
- Drivers License Required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous groundskeeping or landscaping experience is a plus
- Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely
- Basic knowledge of plant care and maintenance
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
