Overview: Our client in Plano is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Intern with a strong background in data analysis to join their engineering team. This is a hybrid, part-time position that will start in June. In this role, you will focus on testing and validating firmware for vendor crypto miners to ensure it meets our performance benchmarks. You will also analyze test data to spot patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with firmware developers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to efficiently resolve issues and enhance firmware quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning and Design: Create and document detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts for firmware validation.
  • Assist in testing Bitcoin mining hardware to verify functionality and performance.

  • Develop and execute test scripts using Python.

  • Contribute to the design and execution of comprehensive testing strategies.
  • Conduct both manual and automated testing of firmware to verify it meets functional and performance requirements.
  • Detect, document, and track defects discovered during testing using appropriate tools.
  • Data Analysis: Examine test data to uncover trends, anomalies, and insights to improve firmware quality and performance.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure that resolved bugs remain fixed and new changes do not introduce new issues.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of test procedures, results, issues, and data analysis findings.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in the blockchain and energy sectors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
