Shipping & Laboratory Support Technician
Our client located in the 78738 area of southwest Austin has been around over 30 years and specializes in the field of compressed air and environmental analysis. They are seeking to add a Shipping & Laboratory Support Technician to their growing team! This position supports and provides essential testing equipment and media for their laboratory that tests breathing, medical and industrial compressed air. These tests help support firefighting, medical, food, manufacturing and more.
This is a Hybrid department position, which means you will be working between two different areas of the facility each day and performing duties related to that location each day.
Must have reliable transportation with the ability to travel onsite to a location that is just west of Bee Cave (78738).
Some of the Essential Responsibilities include:
- Building out packing materials, boxes, labels, etc., for scientific materials to be shipped
- Scientific parts assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and packaging
- Receiving and handling materials ensuring to follow safety procedures and requirements
- Preparing shipments based on purchase orders in a timely manner
- Inventory management
- Data entry to update system with findings
- Views filter membranes through a microscope and performs manual counts of particulates (as needed)
Qualifications:
- Previous shipping/warehouse experience required
- Detail oriented with critical eye for accuracy
- Able to plan, prioritize, and execute simultaneous projects
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with hands-on repetitive tasks that require both urgency and precision
- Requires completion of a month-long onsite training course
Hours: 8:30AM – 5:00PM
Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience
