Facilities Technician
Our client is on the leading edge of semiconductor manufacturing technology and they are looking to add an experienced Facilities Technician to their team at their location in Austin. The person in this position will be supporting the daily operations, preventative maintenance and upkeep of facility systems within a semiconductor R&D environment. JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards, including chemical handling, PPE use, and facility operations.
- Support facility maintenance and operations by assisting in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general system troubleshooting.
- Participate in cleanroom and subsystem management, ensuring compliance with CDA, PCW, and electrical requirements.
- Handle chemical storage, hazardous materials, and coordinate proper waste disposal with vendors.
- Collaborate with vendors and engineers on facility repairs, cleanroom construction, and special projects.
- Participate in safety audits, ERT readiness, fire alarm testing, and serve in an on-call maintenance rotation.
- This is a non-exempt position and eligible for overtime. Normal business hours are ~8 am - 5 pm Monday – Friday and there is also an on-call schedule.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in facility maintenance or engineering, with working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, wastewater, and cleanroom systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams; strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and environmental health & safety compliance.
- Hands-on skills in HVAC, plumbing, and general repairs to complete small projects without external contractors.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); strong customer service and initiative.
