Our client in Austin is on the leading edge of semiconductor process technology and they have an immediate opening for an R&D Engineer.  The person in this position will be part of a team for the development and integration of inkjet printheads for use on novel tools used in semiconductor wafer manufacturing.  This is a direct hire position in an exciting work environment with competitive salary and room for growth.  Details about the job are below.  If you are interested and meet the qualifications, please reply back to this post with a copy of your resume.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         Develop physics based understanding of novel inkjet technology used in semiconductor manufacturing tools, with a focus on mechanical, electrical and/or software optimization of the jetting process

·         Set up and execute DOE’s toward understanding and optimization of the inkjet process

·         Specify, assemble, and utilize and troubleshoot prototype fluid dispense systems

·         Review, organize, and analyze, and draw actionable conclusions from experimental data

·         Prepare and present research summaries, status updates, etc. to internal and external team members

·         Maintain awareness of state of the art for microfluidics / jetting technologies

·         Normal hours are M-F, ~8 am – 5 pm, with some clean room time required

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·         Ph.D. in engineering or physical sciences preferred, MS candidates will also be considered

·         0-5 years of relevant experience in microfluidics, jetting, etc.

·         Experienced in setting up, running, and interpreting data from DOE’s; JMP software is preferred but other DOE program experience is also fine

·         Must be comfortable doing R&D type work and also working quickly to transfer technology into production

·         Hands on experience building, using, and troubleshooting prototype lab equipment

·         Must be comfortable handling chemicals in a lab and following standard safety processes

·         Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences
