Job Title: Structural Steel Estimator
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
The Structural Steel Estimator will be responsible for analyzing drawings and specifications, performing material takeoffs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects. This role requires excellent analytical skills, strong knowledge of steel fabrication and erection practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities

Review construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.

Perform accurate material takeoffs for structural steel components.

Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.

Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to management and clients.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure estimates align with budgets and schedules.

Monitor and update estimates as project details evolve.
Qualifications
-
Proven experience as a Structural Steel Estimator or in a similar estimating role within construction or fabrication.

Strong knowledge of structural steel, fabrication processes, and erection methods.

Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.

Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Tekla EPM, FabTrol) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred

Degree or certification in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

Experience with commercial, industrial, or large-scale structural projects.
