Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and fully functional school environment. This role performs routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of school facilities, equipment, and systems to support daily operations for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, classrooms, and school grounds

Inspect and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs

Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime

Repair doors, windows, flooring, and fixtures as needed
-
Maintain outdoor areas including lawns, sidewalks, and parking lots
-
Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes

Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies

Assist with setup and breakdown for school events and activities

Report major repair needs or safety concerns to supervisors
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
-
Previous maintenance, facilities, or building repair experience preferred

Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry

Ability to use hand and power tools safely

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
-
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- No visible tattoos or nose rings due to school policy
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
