Heavy Machine Operator –
Department: Facilities Maintenance
Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment for cargo handling, loading/unloading, material movement, and maintenance while following all safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate loaders, excavators, forklifts, cranes, bulldozers, and dump trucks
- Load and unload cargo and materials
- Inspect and maintain equipment daily
- Follow OSHA and port safety standards
- Assist with dock, yard, and cleanup operations
- Report equipment issues and hazards
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2+ years heavy equipment experience
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
- Heavy equipment or forklift certification is a plus
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime
- Must be able to obtain TWIC
Skills
- Safe equipment operation
