Job Details

• Moving Trailers:

  Safely maneuvering trailers and other equipment using a yard tractor or other specialized vehicles. 

   
• Positioning for Loading/Unloading:

  Placing trailers at loading docks and other designated areas for efficient loading and unloading of goods. 

   
• Safety Inspections:

  Conducting pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers to identify any maintenance or safety issues. 

   
• Yard Maintenance:

  Maintaining a clean and organized yard, including parking vehicles in designated areas and reporting any maintenance needs. 

   
• Communication:

  Coordinating movements with other yard personnel and potentially dispatchers to ensure smooth operations. 

   
• Basic Maintenance:

  Performing minor repairs and maintenance on vehicles and trailers, and reporting any major issues. 

   
• Following Safety Procedures:

  Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment and working in the yard. 

   
• Record Keeping:

  Maintaining accurate records of vehicle movements, inspections, and any maintenance performed. 

   

• Driving Skills: Proficiency in operating yard tractors or other specialized vehicles. 
   
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform tasks that require physical effort. 
   
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with other team members and potentially dispatchers. 
   
• Attention to Detail: Ability to perform thorough inspections and maintain accurate records. 
   
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and address minor maintenance issues and coordinate movements effectively. 
   
• Safety Consciousness: Commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines.
