Job Details

• Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Identifying the root cause of engine malfunctions using diagnostic tools and their own expertise. 
   
• Maintenance: Performing routine tasks like oil changes, spark plug replacements, air filter changes, and tune-ups. Maintaining and repairing equipment used for course maintenance. 
   
• Repairs: Fixing or replacing damaged or worn-out parts, such as pistons, carburetors, and water pumps. 
   
• Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. 
   
• Inventory Management: Keeping track of parts and supplies, and ordering new parts as needed. 
   
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work is performed safely and in accordance with safety regulations.  
   

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, and some employers prefer post-secondary training or certifications in small engine repair. 
   
• Experience: Experience working with various small engines and equipment is essential. 
   
• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of engine components, and ability to use specialized tools. 
   
• Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills. 
   
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues. 
   
• Physical Stamina: The job may involve physical labor, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
