Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team at a fast-paced warehouse. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment and machinery to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will help maintain the functionality and safety of our warehouse equipment while supporting the overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment, machinery, and systems, including forklifts, conveyors, automated systems, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Inspect, lubricate, and clean equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend service life.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues that arise with equipment or machinery.
- Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns and minimize downtime by performing timely repairs.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.
- Equipment Installation & Upgrades:
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper setup and calibration.
- Help implement upgrades or modifications to existing equipment for improved performance or efficiency.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance work complies with company safety protocols and local regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and adhere to safety practices when handling tools, machinery, or hazardous materials.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.
- Document any parts used and report inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Report issues or concerns to the Maintenance Manager to ensure effective resource allocation and planning.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and operations teams to understand maintenance needs and equipment performance.
- Communicate clearly with other team members and management about maintenance schedules, issues, and repair progress.
- General Warehouse Maintenance:
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of warehouse infrastructure, including lighting, plumbing, and other building systems.
- Assist in other general warehouse maintenance duties as needed, including painting, carpentry, or facility repairs.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role, preferably within a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and repair equipment issues with minimal downtime.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow maintenance procedures and ensure accurate documentation.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to report issues, updates, and progress on repairs.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to work safely with equipment and machinery.
