Job Full Description
A Parts Specialist manages the sourcing, ordering, and inventory of parts and components for a variety of products, such as vehicles and machinery. This position serves as a key link between customers, technicians, and suppliers to ensure the correct parts are procured and distributed efficiently.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret technical manuals and diagrams to identify and verify the correct parts for customer and technician requests.
- Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, performing regular cycle counts, and maintaining accurate records to ensure parts availability.
- Process customer orders by providing price estimates, generating invoices, and coordinating payment.
- Source and procure parts from various suppliers, prepare purchase orders, and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect parts for quality and accuracy, and stock them in the appropriate warehouse locations.
- Prepare and package parts for shipment or customer pickup, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate pricing and resolve any discrepancies with orders.
- Handle returns and warranties by processing exchanges, issuing credits, and returning defective parts to the supplier.
- By maintaining accurate records and a well-organized stock, the Parts Specialist supports the daily operations of businesses like automotive repair shops and dealerships. Their work helps minimize downtime and ensures that the necessary components are available for repairs and service, contributing to overall operational smoothness.
