Summary of Position:

Perform bench or line assembly operations using approved company process documentation and equipment to produce electrical cabling products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate production line machinery and computers.
  • Assembles assigned fabricated products in accordance with production guidelines.
  • Performs spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures.
  • Notifies supervisor of problems with quality or processes, product discrepancies, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Inspects work during and after completion for compliance to documented standards.
  • Reworks, repairs, and replaces damaged parts or assemblies.
  • Provide hands on job function training to coworkers, as needed.
  • Cleans and maintains an orderly work area.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.
  • Assist in other areas when needed or as directed by the Assembly Lead.

Qualifications:

  • 6 months to 1 year previous assembly experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Manual dexterity working with fingers and hands to manipulate components or using controls on an assembly machine.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics or other technical documents and manuals, work with computers, machines and motion-control assembly robots to accomplish job.
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying and dividing fractions and angles.
  • Functional knowledge of calipers, micrometers, squares, tape measure and angle finders.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more with manual/mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time often doing repetitious motions.
  • Ability to climb and work from a ladder and at heights exceeding 6 feet.
  • Working knowledge of volt meters, soldering iron, crimpers, common hand tools, drill, calculator.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to operate various standard power and manually operated tools.
  • Previous experience with forklift and overhead crane operation.
  • Previous experience with various CNC machinery configurations.

Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
