Job Full Description

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the installation of components, assemblies and sub-assemblies on the production line(s) and mechanical tasks as they apply to production or repairs of product, diagnose hydraulic components and diesel engines.  

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Mechanical Assembly

·         Installs purchased, assembled, and preassembled components.

·         Conducts mechanical installations according to general instructions and established standards.

·         Lifts and moves assemblies and components.

·         Assembles product components to meet published schedules as directed.

·         Examines product for proper fit and function.

·         Practices safe work procedures at all times; leads by example.

·         Assists in the organization of the shop floor work.

·         Able to manage multiple tasks.

·         Proficient in precision layout and measurement per drawings, hand drawings, or revisions

 

2.       Inspection, Testing & Commissioning

·         Examines all work performed in assigned areas.

·         Conducts installation inspections.

·         Participates in commissioning, operator training, and testing as required.

 

3.       Problem Solving & Other Responsibilities

•         Exhibits strong problem-solving, decision-making, job task planning, and organizational capabilities.

•         Completes assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.

•         Demonstrates both the ability and desire to improve processes and reduce waste.

•         Performs other duties as required and directed.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education and Experience:

·         Previous work experience preferred

·         Effective time management skills to assist in coordinating the department over multiple shifts.

·         Exceptional people skills and a can-do attitude are essential keys to success in this role.

·         Strong interpersonal skills and ability to excel in a team environment.

·         Strong work ethic.

·         Safety procedure adherence.

·         Problem solving/ decision making/ job task planning and organization.

·         Ability to lift 50 lbs./ manual dexterity.

·         Demonstrate teamwork and commitment to ongoing training for success in the position.

·         Read and interpret blueprints/ drawing specifications.

·         Able to operate and maintain general hand and air tools – brake, sheer grinding equipment.

·         Have an understanding of standard work procedures.

·         Follow and give oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.
