Job Title: Inventory Warehouse Associate (Receiving Focus)
Job Summary
The Inventory Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and maintaining inventory within the warehouse. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate stock levels, timely processing of incoming shipments, and efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in receiving and inventory control processes.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inspection
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues promptly
- Accurately record received items into inventory systems
- Label, tag, and properly store incoming products
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts
- Assist with full physical inventory audits as required
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages or overstock
- Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO, LIFO as applicable)
Warehouse Organization
- Store products in designated areas for easy retrieval and inventory accuracy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Assist with rearranging warehouse layout to optimize space and efficiency
Shipping & General Warehouse Support
- Assist in picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment when needed
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in receiving or inventory control
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and data entry
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents (BOLs, packing slips, invoices)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software
- Previous experience in high-volume distribution environments
