The Presser/Liner is responsible for assembling, lining, pressing, and inspecting explosive charges and related components used in oilfield perforating and completion operations. This position works in a controlled manufacturing environment handling energetic materials and must strictly follow all safety, quality, and production procedures. The Presser/Liner plays a critical role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble charge cases, liners, and explosive components according to engineering specifications and work instructions.
- Operate manual and automated pressing equipment used to compact explosive materials and manufacture shaped charges.
- Inspect liners, charge cases, and finished products for defects, damage, and dimensional accuracy.
- Measure and verify material weights, dimensions, and production parameters.
- Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and inventory logs.
- Follow all company, OSHA, ATF, DOT, and safety regulations regarding the handling of energetic materials.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparation of finished products for shipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping and safety standards.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Work effectively with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members to meet production goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Manufacturing, assembly, or industrial production experience preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work safely in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and any required company certifications.
