ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in training and developing personnel to attain a high level of performance through individual and group performance.
- Provide manufacturing assistance in resolving product problems (e.g., powder coat, safety hazards, machine breakdowns, capacity constraints, quality, material handling, and processes).
- Focus on operating costs, labor, material, and variables to aid in identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Specify new tooling, equipment and methods or modifications to old, to improve cost, safety, quality, equipment and cycle times.
· Develope and perform Preventative Maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Participate in special projects related to product development or extension. Prepare cost estimates as required. Work closely with Glomar, manufacturing, tool and die, and vendors on projects requiring their involvement.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
· BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Equivalent Experience
· Metal manufacturing and Powder Coating experience required.
· Proven history of problem-solving in an environment involving welding, thermal cutting, forming, machining, and other manufacturing processes.
· Aptitude of making decisions involving varied levels of risk and ambiguity.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and Access skills.
· Demonstrates strong leadership skills
· Possesses detailed knowledge of the shop industry
· Works well with a team
· Demonstrates awareness of all health and safety protocols
· Manages time efficiently
· Can multi-task effectively
· Pays attention to detail
· Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
· Is qualified to operate CNC, Press, and metal rolling machines.
