This position is for a logistics company that specializes in heavy machinery transportation and supply chain management.
We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Machinery Painter with expertise in paint and body skills to join our client's dynamic team.
Job Summary: As a Heavy Machinery Painter, you will be responsible for applying high-quality finishes to a fleet of heavy machinery and equipment. Your role will involve preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paints, and ensuring that all paintwork meets company standards and client specifications. You will work closely with our maintenance team to keep our machinery in optimal condition and help uphold the company's reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and clean surfaces of heavy machinery by sanding, grinding, or using chemical cleaners.
- Mix and match paints, primers, and finishes according to specifications.
- Apply paint using various techniques, including spray guns, brushes, and rollers, ensuring even coverage and a professional finish.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects, including runs, bubbles, or uneven areas, and make necessary corrections.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform touch-ups and repairs on existing paint and bodywork, addressing wear and tear on machinery.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team and follow work orders and project timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on each job.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a painter specializing in heavy machinery or similar equipment.
- Strong knowledge of paint types, application techniques, and surface preparation methods.
- Proficient in body repair techniques and skills, including dent removal and surface repair.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and handling hazardous materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in painting or automotive bodywork are a plus.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of heavy machinery operation and maintenance.
