Express Employment of Longview is currently hiring for a Production Coordinator/Scheduler for a local manufacturing company.  This is a day shift with a starting pay of around $50-55K per year.

Job Summary:

Directs, plans, assigns, and monitors production department activities. Directs the production workforce to fulfill customer orders.  Determines department priorities for all operations in conjunction with production and finishing schedules. ****Scheduling is an extremely important role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day supervision of all production departments:
  • Reviews daily production requirements and schedules for the effective use of human resources, materials, and equipment
  • Responding to requests from sales personnel concerning schedule attainment status.
  • Evaluates production planning, reporting systems, and ensures accuracy and timelines of data reported.
  • Implement processes to improve inventory accuracy and shipping schedule.
  • Interprets raw materials, artwork, printing specs, blueprints, and job travelers.
  • Develop production schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • In cooperation with Quality Control, performs “in-process” and “finished goods” inspections to verify conformance to specifications and standards. Investigates/resolves any quality issues identified and/or reported by others.
  • Works with other departments to ensure inventory levels are adequate to meet customer demands.
  • Attends, leads, and contributes in meetings as required.
  • Interprets and enforces company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Analyzes/resolves work problems, and/or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Ensures that employee time and production records, including materials, are entered into the MES program.
  • Monitors employee hours and productivity and authorizes the use of “overtime” only when essential.
  • Assists with evaluating employee performance through performance review participation, goal setting, and feedback
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners to coordinate activities between departments.
  • Ensures plant safety and security procedures are performed, including equipment shut down, plant lock up
  • Other related duties may be required.

 

 

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

 

Good understanding of OSHA; experienced in handling safety issues; basic understanding of ISO 90001 principles

 

Basic to intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office software applications

 

Good understanding & experience of Continual Improvement principles & methods

 

Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities

 

Exposure and use of an MRP, ERP system, for example, SAP, Plex etc.

 

Previous experience with Master Scheduling

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall direction and coordination of department personnel.  Responsible for overseeing the training of department employees and adhering to and enforcing company policies, procedures, and health and safety legislation

 

Education and/or Experience:                    

High school diploma or equivalent and two to three years related experience and/or training. Strong skills in work planning, scheduling, and interpersonal relations. Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
