Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals of Longview is now hiring a steel core maker for a local steel manufacturer. The hours are 5am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday and the starting pay is $17.00.
The core maker/finisher position is responsible for making cores for molds used in the casting process and maintaining facility equipment according to safe, predictive and productive systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
- Become proficient in all phases of core making
- Become proficient in the use of various manual and automatic core machines
- Make, clean, assemble, and repair cores weighing from 5 to 100 pounds (anything over 50 pounds must be handled by 2 people)
- Paint cores by various means, drying of cores by various means, and hand-finishing cores
- Stack cores for storage
- Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Follow the directions of the supervisor
Preferred Experience/ Education/ Training/ Certifications:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Trade School experience
