Now Hiring: Accountant I
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant I. This role assists with accounting duties related to grants, general accounting, and student account–related responsibilities. The Accountant I will provide backup support for the Accountant position and assist all areas of the Business Office as needed.

Position Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual grant accounting, including preparing reports and reconciliations for specific grants
- Manage and ensure accuracy of Employee Tuition Grants and student account charge processes
- Prepare monthly journal entries for common cost allocations and correcting entries as needed
- Interpret and apply statutes, rules, and regulations as required
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Perform all grant-related duties, including drawdowns
- Work closely with grant writers and submit grants timely
- Assist with duties related to registration, audits, and other time-sensitive events
- Assist with third-party billing
- Assist with generating and verifying 1098-Ts
- Complete budget transfers and modifications
- Train as backup for the Accountant position
- Serve as an active and collaborative member of the Business Office team
- Maintain regular attendance for a full-time work schedule; additional hours may be required during peak periods
- Attend conferences and seminars to stay current in the field
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and accounting systems
- Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records while managing multiple projects
- Ability to work effectively under high levels of stress
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Self-starter with the ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner
