Inventory Specialist (Temp-to-Perm)


Location: Mesquite, TX (multi-building manufacturing/warehouse campus). 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st shift
Employment Type: Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: $18–$22/hour DOE 


Role Summary

The Inventory Specialist supports daily material control and inventory accuracy for our client’s warehouse/office environment—handling cycle counts, stock reconciliations, movement tracking for raw materials and outbound shipments, and timely data entry into internal systems. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily/weekly cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain high inventory accuracy.
  • Track raw material receipts, internal material movements, and outgoing shipments, ensuring correct labeling and system updates. 
  • Enter inventory transactions (receipts, transfers, adjustments, picks) into ERP/WMS or internal systems.
  • Generate inventory reports: on-hand levels, shortages, discrepancies, slow movers.
  • Support shipping/receiving functions by verifying counts and preparing documentation.
  • Apply FIFO/lot control practices appropriate for chemical and water-quality product lines. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow established safety, quality, and compliance guidelines

Requirements (Must-Haves)

  • Basic computer knowledge; comfortable entering data accurately.
  • Microsoft Excel: 2+ years (functions for sorting, filtering, basic formulas).
  • Steel-toe shoes required.
  • Experience with cycle counting and basic inventory processes.
  • Ability to lift approx. 50 lbs., stand/walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work in a warehouse or light-manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP/WMS transactions.
  • Experience with shipping documents (packing lists, BOLs).
  • Knowledge of lot/batch control and FIFO practices relevant to consumable/chemical product handling.
