Now Hiring: General Labor / Scale Operator
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday | Half day (AM)
We are hiring a General Labor / Scale Operator for a busy recycling facility. This position is a mix of scale house duties and yard support, ideal for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both office and outdoor environments.
What You’ll Do
- Operate the truck scale to weigh incoming and outgoing materials accurately
- Enter weight data and customer information into the system
- Process scale tickets and basic paperwork
- Direct vehicle traffic safely in and around the yard
- Assist with general labor tasks as needed (yard clean-up, material handling)
- Communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and team members
- Maintain a clean, organized scale house and yard area
- Follow all safety policies and operating procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a scale operator, yard worker, or general laborer preferred (not required)
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Safety-minded and able to follow procedures
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
Physical & Work Environment
- Combination of scale house (office-style) and outdoor yard work
- Standing, walking, and light lifting required
- Exposure to dust, noise, heavy equipment, and weather conditions
- PPE required while on site
