A growing, mission-driven organization in the advanced manufacturing sector is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join its dynamic HR team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who values accuracy, service, and continuous improvement in payroll and benefits administration. As the company continues to expand nationally, this individual will play a key role in ensuring seamless payroll operations and employee benefits support, while contributing to broader HR initiatives and compliance efforts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, 401(k), and voluntary offerings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing timely and thorough support
  • Conduct audits of payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Prepare detailed reports related to payroll, benefits, and HR metrics
  • Support compliance efforts including wage and hour laws, leave management (FMLA, personal, medical), disability, and workers' compensation claims
  • Maintain effective relationships with benefits vendors and brokers
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments for audits, reporting, and policy development
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes to keep processes aligned and compliant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • At least 4 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll and benefits regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
  • ADP Workforce Now is a plus
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis) and mail merge functions
  • High attention to detail, strong time management, and organizational skills
  • Professionalism in handling confidential information
