Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a well-established and reputable mechanical contractor based in Round Rock, TX, known for providing top-tier plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems for new residential construction throughout Central Texas for over 20 years. This growing team is seeking a Junior Plumbing Estimator to assist in reviewing construction documents, supporting the estimating process, and coordinating with field teams and builders. This is an ideal role for someone with a foundational understanding of residential plumbing systems who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to grow their career in construction estimating.
Pay Rate: $20.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze construction documents, including blueprints, plans, and specifications to assist in generating accurate plumbing estimates and material takeoffs.
- Support the lead estimator by gathering and verifying project data, ensuring all proposals reflect current and accurate information.
- Contribute to the preparation of plumbing estimates in alignment with building codes, builder specifications, and project guidelines.
- Coordinate and maintain bid calendars to help ensure all proposals are completed and submitted on schedule.
- Collaborate with builders, site supervisors, and suppliers to clarify project details, track scope adjustments, and verify material requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in plumbing estimation, preferably in the new residential construction sector.
- Strong ability to read and understand architectural plans and construction drawings.
- Familiar with local plumbing codes and standard residential building practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
- Experience using builder communication portals such as Hyphen/SupplyPro and Buildertrend is highly desirable.
