Job Full Description
Express is looking for a qualified Generator Technician to assist a reputable business in Williamson County.
1st shift
Pay Rate: $21-$33 DOE
Job Summary
Under limited supervision, the Generator Technician inspects, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on emergency electrical generators for the facilities, while also assisting other departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and repair emergency generators for all buildings.
- Conduct test runs on generators and transfer switches.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including tune-ups, oil sampling, and changes.
- Maintain a database of generator history, including maintenance records and testing dates.
- Collaborate with the Utility Foreman to ensure necessary parts are stocked.
- Follow safety practices while completing tasks.
- Inspect the lift stations.
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events.
- Keep work areas organized and clean.
- Complete required work orders and other related duties.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with two years of experience in emergency generators preferred, or equivalent training and experience.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean record; CDL A license must be obtained within two years.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with emergency generators and safe operating procedures around electricity.
- Ability to inspect, maintain, and repair generators; use handheld tools safely; and operate office equipment for data management.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with co-workers and the public, especially in stressful situations.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
