ob Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Lab Technician to join a growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a lab environment and wants to support the development, testing, and validation of innovative heat transfer products in the IT space. The Lab Technician will assist engineers with prototype assembly, thermal testing, data collection and analysis, as well as equipment maintenance and calibration.
Schedule & Pay:
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thermal testing and analysis of prototypes and products, measuring temperature, airflow, and heat transfer.

Set up, operate, and maintain thermal testing equipment, including thermocouples, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers.

Perform soldering on wires, connectors, and circuit boards using through-hole and surface mount techniques.

Build, assemble, and test wiring harnesses.

Assist with IT lab setup and maintenance, including hardware assembly, software installation, and network configuration.

Collect and analyze data, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to the engineering team.

Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.

Follow lab safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications:
-
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent lab experience.

2+ years of experience in thermal testing, analysis, or lab work.

Familiarity with thermal measurement tools (thermocouples, thermal cameras, data loggers).

Strong understanding of thermal principles (heat transfer, convection, resistance).

Skilled in data analysis tools/software (Excel, MATLAB, or similar).

Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
