Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM (Overtime as needed, typically extending after the shift)
Job Summary
A leading manufacturing company in the Cedar Park area is seeking an experienced TIG Welder/Fabricator for a temporary assignment. This position focuses on precision sheet metal fabrication and TIG (GTAW) welding, producing high-quality welds on stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel components. Candidates must be able to work independently with minimal supervision on the night shift.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and engineering drawings.
- Perform TIG (GTAW) welding, fitting, tack welding, grinding, and finishing.
- Fabricate and assemble precision sheet metal components.
- Weld thin-gauge stainless steel and aluminum (down to .036"/20 gauge preferred).
- Complete finishing work to ensure clean, seamless welds.
- Perform drilling, tapping, countersinking, and hardware installation.
- Inspect completed work for quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Complete production documentation and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of TIG welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- TIG/GTAW welding experience is required and must be clearly listed on your resume.
- Experience welding stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
- Experience with thin-gauge sheet metal fabrication is highly preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
- Experience grinding and finishing welds to a high cosmetic standard.
- Structural welding experience alone is not a good fit for this role.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Immediate availability is strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Spot welding, stud welding, or robotic welding.
- Overhead crane operation.
- High-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and moving equipment while wearing required PPE.
