Our client, a family-owned manufacturing company in North Central San Antonio, is looking for a Mechanical Assembler for a long-term, evaluation-hire opportunity. Pay is $18 an hour. The company is looking for someone with a strong mechanical skillset who enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving. Duties for the Mechanical Assembler position include:
- Producing components and sub-assemblies in accordance with provided end-item drawings
- Reading and interpreting assembly blueprints
- Using mechanical tools and instrumentation including torque wrenches, crimpers, wire cutters, and tube benders
- Performing basic quality checks and inspections
- Working with electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Maintaining safety and quality standards throughout the assembly process
Requirements for the Mechanical Assembler position are:
- Physically fit, able to lift heavy items and perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching
- Background in mechanics with some electro-mechanical/hydraulics experience
- Must have own basic set of tools
- High school education or equivalent
- Experience using mechanical tools and power tools
- Ability to make sound judgments and decisions in a production environment
- Not seeking candidates with “assembly line” experience. This role requires a hands-on mechanical skillset
