Our client, a family-owned manufacturing company in Northeast San Antonio, is looking for a CMM Technician for a long term, evaluation-hire opportunity. Pay is $22-$28 an hour depending on experience. The company is looking for someone to become part of the family. It’s a great opportunity to join a close-knit community. The job requires both thinking through an assembly/fabrication plan and production welding of multiple products. Duties for the CMM Technician position include:

  • Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines to perform measurements and inspections of production parts and components using engineering drawings, prepared inspection programs, and technical data packages as required.
  • Develop and modify CMM programs to ensure accurate measurements according to specifications. 
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies
  • Documenting and reporting any non-conformities as required.

  • Operates and maintains Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure accurate

    measurement and inspection of parts and components.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to verify conformance to design requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, First Article Inspections, and ISO documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements for the CNC Machinist position are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in Metrology preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in operating CMMs or in a quality control role. 
  • Previous experience with Hexagon Absolute Arms” with probe and scanner abilities.
  • Proficiency in CMM programming and familiarity with PC-Dimis and Inspire software.  Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot measurement issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills to collaborate with team members and document findings.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality control, and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.

This is a long term, evaluation hire opportunity. Hours for the CMM Technician position are 7am to 6pm Monday through Thursday. Pay is $22-$28 an hour depending on experience.
