Job Full Description
Get in on the Ground Floor! Our client, a growing National Recycling Company has opened in Northeast San Antonio and is looking for a Shred Lead. Pay is $24-$26 an hour. This is a long-term, temp-to-hire opportunity. Duties for the Shred Lead position include:
- Check ALL dust collector barrels in shred area, empty and replace as needed
- Check platform conveyor chute, to ensure no jams and empty gaylord as needed.
- Check pit incline conveyor for wires/material, cut wires and remove material as needed
- Clean magnet every Monday
- Ensure operators clean work areas throughout the day, especially at end of every shift
- Check dust collector chute, cleaning inside as needed
- Immediately reports all accidents and near accidents to Manager.
Requirements for the Shred Lead position are:
- Must have physical strength, balance/hand-eye coordination to complete job(s)
- Ability to listen to, understand and follow directions
- Be a good team player, attention to detail
- Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to stand and walk 8 hours a day or more if necessary
- Mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and experience with industrial shredding or material handling equipment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED

The Shred Lead position is a long-term temp to hire opportunity. Hours are 7am to 3:30pm Monday-Friday with 30-minute lunch. Water, Gatorade and Ice-Pops provided by company. Occasional overtime available on a voluntary basis. Pay is $24-$26 an hour.
