Our client is seeking a dependable Steel Cutter / Fabrication Cutter to support fabrication operations by accurately measuring, marking, cutting, and preparing steel materials for production. This position plays a critical role in ensuring steel components are prepared according to shop drawings, customer specifications, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
- Measure, mark, and cut steel pipe, tubing, plate, and structural steel according to blueprints, work orders, and customer specifications.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, measurements, and production specifications to ensure accurate material preparation.
- Operate metal cutting equipment, including band saws, cold saws, chop saws, plasma cutters, and oxy-fuel cutting torches.
- Verify dimensions, maintain tight tolerances, and ensure quality standards throughout the cutting process.
- Load, unload, move, and organize steel materials while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a steel fabrication, manufacturing, welding, or industrial environment
- Ability to read a tape measure and use measuring tools accurately
- Basic understanding of fabrication drawings and material specifications
- Ability to safely operate metal cutting equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience cutting structural steel and pipe
- Forklift experience
- Overhead crane experience
- Familiarity with grooving, threading, and pipe fabrication processes
- Knowledge of fabrication shop workflow and steel material handling

Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Regular lifting, carrying, and moving of steel materials
- Ability to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, sparks, and varying temperatures
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and welding/cutting protective gear
Work Environment
- Indoor steel fabrication shop
- Fast-paced production environment
- Work closely with welders, fabricators, machine operators, and production supervisors
- Support custom steel and pipe fabrication projects that serve a variety of customer needs
