Job Full Description
The Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and supporting financial operations within the organization. This position involves a combination of accounting, financial analysis, and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping:
Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Record financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process accounts payable invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file tax returns accurately, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Stay updated on changes in tax codes and requirements.
Managing Tax Payroll Credits
Audit Support:
Collaborate with auditors during financial audits, providing documentation and information as needed. Ensure that audit trails and documentation are well-maintained.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
Provide insights and recommendations to support financial decision-making.
Expense Management:
Monitor and control expenses to align with budgetary constraints.
Review and approve expense reports submitted by employees.
Account Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Compliance and Regulation:
Stay informed about accounting standards, regulatory changes, and best practices.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or relevant standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field highly desired but not a requirement.
Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, advanced Excel).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
2+ yrs of Accounting, GAAP, QuickBooks, will train on Acumatic ERP
Experience: "Employee Credits" for in house employees, specifically for Veterans and Disabilities. May consider someone with 5 yrs. experience in accounting to train.

Mon - Fri 8-5p.m.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 p/h
